It's a quiet, cold Christmas Eve night on the East Coast here in the United States. It's abnormally cold - negative 17 degrees Fahrenheit which has us all basically hibernating and scared to go outside! We aren't used to such crazy cold weather! It was the PERFECT night for some time in the studio! I chose Ukko and Esmeralda as the stars of the show tonight. Are they not just the cutest Christmas snow ponies?! Ukko is one of my favorite horses right now!
It was so fun making this scene. From all the teeny tiny details, making it the perfect snowy festive Photo Booth! I used a lot of props, some I made on my own and some purchased. I adjusted my studio light to dim to give the affect of a cold evening, as the sun was setting. Breathe out of the horses' nostrils shows how crisp the air is. A sweet friend in Germany sent me some twinkle lights and they made the perfect addition to the grey metal fence. Some rocks in the snow, twigs with snow hanging gently on them, a Christmas wreath, and a little snow covered pine tree. The sun glistens through the trees as the ponies breath in the cold air and enjoy the last of the sunshine.
I hope you all enjoy these snowy ponies as much as I do! Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, here in the United States and around the world. You are valued, loved and have a purpose. Whatever your day or situation looks like, remember what brings you joy. While our lives all look different on a holiday, I am thankful for the very thing brings us together - our love for this hobby!
