A Collection of Cobras

This has been such a fun adventure and project throughout the past several months. It has always been on my radar to get a Traditional Scale set of Eber's ever so famous Cobra Mares. Knowing this a probably a dream not coming true anytime soon, I jumped at the opportunity for the Micros! I met Brigitte Eberl at the Artist Gallery at BreyerFest 2022 in Kentucky. I attempted to purchase a full set and sadly was told she had just sold the last one. Her assistant happened to over hear and magically pull one last set out from under the table. I knew it was meant to be! And don't we all know, when you find that resin that just melts your heart, do we ever stop at just one?!

Fast forward a few months and I started talking more with Holly Conner of Conner Lane Creations. We began dreaming up some lovely shades of grey for these girls and off they headed to Holly! Detailed and precise does not even being to describe Holly's work! I mostly gave her artist choice on how to paint them as long as it was some form of grey. She did WONDERS on this first set! These ladies also appeared on their own blog post "4 Shades of Grey" a few months back.

Gorgeous hand painted dapples. Greyed muzzles. Shadowed knees and neck lines. She even detailed their manes and tails and forelocks out to complete realism. It is a tough toss up if Esplendida or Esmerelda is my favorite in this set. I love Esmerelda's dark coat and the stunning dapples across her belly. These girls have been in my show string for a few months now and have plenty of ribbons under their belt! Excited to see how they do this year.

Now here we are a new year, and some new cobra mares! Meet he Dilutes! If you have been following me for any period of time, you know my heart stops for dilutes. When Holly originally started these I told her to not tease me because I didn't need two sets. Well we can see how that went!

Are they not stunning?! I swear, Holly's detail work got even better in 4 months! Esplendida is by far my favorite girl in this set. The blaze and muzzle melt me. Esmerelda's little pink nose is perfection. Estella's blue eyes are dreamy. Esperanza dark buckskin tone and black muzzle.

These girls are just SO fun and I am so excited to show them this year! I cannot rave enough about how detailed and skilled Holly's work is. AND guess what..... she has a OOAK sales set coming up of these girls! ;)
